Kelsi Moffitt knows the value of your home. As a former insurance appraiser she helped homeowners recognize small problems that could lead to major expenses if left unchecked. “A small amount of hail can really cause a lot of damage if it is not repaired in a timely manner. Water can enter your home through damaged shingles and rot the decking and support beams, not to mention the ugly water spots on walls and ceilings and the potential for mold growth.” If a hail storm comes through your area or it is time to replace your existing roof or siding, give Kelsi a call for a free inspection and estimate. ” I’m always willing to help homeowners determine if they have an insurance claim and how to go about contacting their agent to get the job done right.”

Iron River Construction is proud to announce that we recycle all of our old and new shingles. Dem-Con Companies is a processing company developed to recover shingles resulting from the manufacturing process as well as tear off shingles from your home when replacement is necessary. Tens of thousands of tons are currently buried in landfills every year, and Dem-Con Shingle Processing is working to recover this material to reduce reliance on virgin asphalt. Dem-Con has worked with many government organizations to develop equipment, specifications, and end use options for the shingles.

We’re excited to see how the strongest, most flexible shingle in the US is being manufactured. It’ll also be interesting to learn how we can use this product effectively in MN to reduce the cost of insurance premiums for our homeowners, and increase the longevity of the lifespan of their roofs.

On Wednesday, August 19th, a tornado hit just south of downtown Minneapolis. One of our customers was located right in the heart of the devastated area. After the sirens had stopped and everyone had come up from their basements, the damage assessments began.

Trees were down, debris was everywhere. Windows were broken, roofs were torn off. Many of the neighbors were missing shingles, some were missing roof boards, and many were leaking. Even now there are blue tarps tacked onto roofs everywhere, to try to prevent further damage.

When our homeowners went outside to see what kind of shape their home was in, they were amazed. Not even one shingle missing.

Our roofs speak for themselves.
