The first thing you will notice is that your yard will look like a construction site. We bring in a dumpster, and park it right in the middle of your yard, so our men can toss the old shingles right in without wasting much time. The next thing you will probably notice about your new roof in Darwin is that not all the shingles actually make it into the dumpster. This is normal, and won’t stay that way- so don’t be too concerned. Our men are all very familiar with being careful not to damage plants and shrubs, so you can be assured that even though they sometimes miss the dumpster, they won’t land directly on plants and gardens. A typical roof replacement will produce approximately 5,000 to 10,000 pounds of trash, but it will only be around for a few days and then the dumpster will be gone forever.
This process of tearing off the old roof is also very noisy, but not as noisy as installing a new one. We usually place 2 to 5 men up there to keep the job moving along as fast as possible just in case we run into the risk of bad weather. On average, a new roof will install in 1 to 3 days, depending on the size of course. The constant hammering will begin to wear thin by 3:00pm, so plan on eating out that night, you will be glad you did. These vibrations can also cause some of the pictures in your house to move. If any of them are hanging precariously, or resting loosely on something, it would be a good idea to gather them up, or lay them flat to avoid the unthinkable.
